President & CEO | Founder

KIMBERLY ALSTON

Kimberly Alston is the Founder and President/CEO of Jewel House. She provides the overall vision, leadership, and strategic direction of the organization. As the Founder, she is responsible for advancing the mission to provide permanent, family-centered housing and supportive resources for women and men transitioning out of incarceration, as well as women and children overcoming homelessness, trauma, and instability across Hawaiʻi and beyond. With decades of community advocacy, prison outreach, and leadership experience, Kimberly brings lived experience, compassion, and purpose-driven leadership to every aspect of Jewel House’s mission.

Vice President

NATASHA FREEMAN

Natasha Freeman serves as Vice President of Jewel House, supporting the organization’s mission through operational leadership, program support, and community engagement. She works closely with the President & CEO to help advance strategic initiatives, strengthen partnerships, and ensure the organization’s values are reflected in its day-to-day work and long-term growth.

Secretary

Jolene Lau 

Jolene Lau was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. A 32-year civilian career, Jolene is a public servant with the Department of Agriculture. She is a Life Member of NAACP and Blacks in Government. In her free time, Jolene enjoys community service projects and supporting other community organizations.

Treasurer

Reuben Vassar

Reuben Vassar is a husband, father of five beautiful children, and Retired Army Military Intelligence Warrant Officer. He received his masters degree in Atmospheric Science from Howard University. He enjoys smiles and laughter with his mother and serving the community.

Business Administrator

Chelsea Sherrod

Chelsea has an MBA degree and over 30 years Business experience. Chelsea is currently completing a Doctorate degree. 

Staff Grant Writer

Chas Williams

Worknet is a 501(c)3 non-profit agency serving justice involved individuals for over 30 years. Our programs include training and counseling in every state and county lock up on Oahu. We provide Parole Board approved training for Cognitive Skills, Job Search and Reentry. We are the only agency providing Driver Licensing for present and formerly incarcerated individuals. We have served more than 3,000 clients. 

Program Coordinator 

COLIN BODE

Colins role is to support and advance the organization’s mission by coordinating programs, facilitating collaboration, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. As Program Coordinator Colin works to keep initiatives organized, responsive, and aligned with organizational goals while supporting staff, volunteers, and community partners in delivering meaningful impact.
